Database Engineer with Troux/Metis Experience Location Washington, DC Position Type Contract Work Experience 5+ Years Salary Negotiable

Job Description Our client, a leading provider of consulting services to federal agencies, state and local governments, and prime contractors, is looking for a Senior Database Engineer to develop the Troux metamodel for a large government agency. This position will work closely with the Technical Lead and Systems Engineers to develop solutions for enhancing the current Troux application to better meet the agency's requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES Work as part of a small (3-4 member) team to design, develop, deploy, and maintain the Troux metamodel in the current environment with a vision toward the future state Analyze the defined requirements and processes Analyze the current configuration of the database Design a new Troux metamodel based on the requirements Document the design Review the Troux metamodel design and design options with the Project Manager, Technical Lead and System Engineers Work with the UI team to ensure the metamodel design is aligned with the UI development Develop and unit test the metamodel QUALIFICATIONS Experience in requirements analysis, software development and installation, integration evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis and resolution Broad experience with a wide range of database technologies and experience developing applications for support and interaction with databases Proven expertise in the development of database schemas, as well as expertise in the configuration and database tuning of the Troux application and database At least 3 years of performing database engineering functions in highly scalable database platform Additional experience developing code written in SQL is required 5+ years of recent, direct database development experience in highly scalable database environment 2+ years of recent direct Java coding experience Proficiency in enterprise level J2EE application development Strong SQL and database knowledge Must possess experience in requirements analysis, software development and installation, integration evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis and resolution Excellent communication skills Excellent analytical skills A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field US citizenship Public Trust Clearance
